Greetings!
As you know, I did not publish the rest of my travels online. The month of November consisted of consistent travel from Valparaiso, Chile to Punta del Este, Uruguay, to Patagonian Argentina and Chile, back to B.A. for a week, then begrudgingly back home to Memphis. It was an emotional whirlwind to say the least, and with my emotions being everywhere, I decided to keep my journal private.
However, for those of you who would like to know more about my travels, please don't hesitate to email me at esammons@tulane.edu.
I wrote this little piece below after I got home. As you can see, I'm ready to embark on my next South American adventure, and I fully intend on including you all in my journey through it all. Thanks for reading and supporting me for these many months.
Love, Neely
My parents left on Halloween in the afternoon. My friends were going out that night but i opted to eat leftover empanadas on the couch with elena and MimÃ.
Then November rolled around the corner, as we all knew it would. it was a somber morning, with dark clouds and rain all day. Elena said it was because Buenos Aires knew I would be leaving her soon.
Maybe she was right.
I spent the day cleaning my room that I'd neglected while staying in my parents' hotel... yikes. This photo actually makes me so happy though; it's a little slice of my life over there, from Elena's instant coffee in my favorite mug to the future contraband apple (Chile is strict with dem frutas!!) to the megatlon schedule and travel documents and purses and gifts and books and little notes from Elena tucked under things where she knew I'd find them before I was buried under the mess... How I miss it over there!
